Our ALT comes from the Philippines and her hometown
was struck by the strongest tyhoon. The typhoon
brought the severe damage to her hometown. We were
very sad to hear this. Her family were evacuated
to the school building and all of them were safe.
But the roof of her house was blown off. And they
cannot use the electricity and fresh water.
It is difficult for her to go back to her country
to see them and help them because of the COVID-19.
What can we do for her? We can understand how much
she worries about her family.... We asked her to tell
us about the typhoon, her hometown and her family.
She told us a lot of things; how she contacted her
family, how carefully her family moved and so on.
We hope that we could share her feelings with her.
We really want to listen to the stories about her
beautiful hometown again!
先週フィリピンを直撃した台風２２号。報道によると非常に大きな被害をもたらしたようです。本校に来て下さっているALTの先生のふるさとも大きな被害が出たそうです。ご自宅の屋根も吹き飛ばされてしまい、電気が使えず、飲み水も不足しているそうですが、ご家族の無事は確認できたそうです。ご家族のもとにすぐにでも駆けつけたいところだとは思いますが、コロナ禍にあって入国は容易ではないそうです・・・。私たちには何ができるのでしょうか？ご家族のもとを離れ、一人日本で働く状況であっても、ご家族を思い、ふるさとを心配する気持ちに共感し、せめてそうした気持ちを分かって過ごしている子どもたちが石田小にはいることをお伝えできればと思い、５年生、６年生の授業をしました。
